Our community is predominately the city of Brookhaven, Mississippi, which hosts a population of about 13,000. It is centered in Lincoln County which has a population of about 36,000. We are located on the I-55 corridor 50 miles south of Jackson, MS, and 140 miles north of New Orleans, LA. It is a diverse city. You can see more details by looking us up on city-data.com. Brookhaven is home to one of the eleven train stops in the whole state. It is also home to Mississippi School of the Arts (MSA), one of the two state schools for students who excel in specialized gifts. MSA is a statewide residential school that provides advanced programs of study in music, theatre, visual arts, dance, literary arts, and media arts for artistically gifted eleventh and twelfth grade students. In addition, we have Brookhaven High School, Alexander Junior High and Brookhaven Academy each within the city limits. Lincoln county also possesses 3 county schools.
The Assembly, Brookhaven (formerly Brookhaven First A/G) was founded 85 years ago and has been located at 226 N. 2nd St. for most of that time. That location is key because God placed us beside Brookhaven High School when it was much smaller and when our church was also small. We feel God placed us exactly where He did so we could grow with the school because He knew He could trust us with students. It is one of the main reasons we have not sought to leave the area, but to expand our vision and mission. We are passionate about reaching our city and about seeing lives changed. We have been able to see significant growth over the last fifteen years and have refocused our church around our vision, to Love God, Live the Life, and Share Christ.
We are a diverse congregation located in a transitioning neighborhood, located adjacent to Brookhaven High School. We reach into our community through various events and serve projects. We have always been passionate about student ministry and we involve our students in ministry roles as early as possible. Our goal is to help every individual find their ministry gifts and equip them to be kingdom builders. We rally around our core values and strive to live them out each day, proclaiming the Gospel in the spirit of the Great Commandment.

Our students are our greatest asset, ministered to through Realife Student Ministries. Realife has around thirty students that regularly attend. It has a great amount of potential for a purpose-driven individual or couple. Realife has it own building, themed for our students. We have our own worship and media team, but best yet, we have a great group of sponsors and student leaders who love God and our students. Because of our proximity to the school, we partner a lot with various clubs and campus organizations. We have a very good working relationship with the administration and an open door for a dynamic leader to come in and build on a very solid foundation.
We are looking for the right person to take advantage of this present season of favor and propel Realife to the next level. You can only imagine what Realife could be if a leader began to take full advantage of the open doors and began to cultivate student relationships.
